also while you can go kind of cheap on a power supply, try to get one that's at least 80 plus certified (I forget exactly what the certification is but it has something to do with the quality of the power supply)

I built a pretty barebones i5 with this a few weeks ago and the modular power system is pretty neat http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...1016&Tpk=bp550 (the only shitty part is that it doesn't come with a molex/sata hybrid cable but that's nbd)

You want a 500 Watt power supply to provide at least 30amps on a single +12v rail. That power supply is using 3 rails to provide power. It's risky!

Compare the specs with this Corsair (Among the best PS suppliers) 500 watt power supply that provides 38 A on a single +12V rail.

So for the past little while I've been toying with the idea of hooking my PC up to my TV. Only problem being they are in different rooms. Move the PC you say. Too fucking heavy I say. Run a long cable you say. Too fucking risky I thought. Plus all that drilling through walls. Too fucking bad you say. Not so fast says I. I found a solution. Wireless HDMI. I found it the other day while looking for something else in my local computer store. Figured what the hell. I can return it if it sucks. Stunningly it does not suck. No lag. Like, NONE. I can run my PC from my den as a gaming rig and from my office as a work machine. I got the Belkin Screencast AV 4. It's not direct line of sight either. Going through a wall to recieve it. And my balls, I know. Worth it.

I got it for 200. But it also has 4 hdmi inputs, so its not just a 1 to 1 link. Best 2 bills i've spent in years.

I was going to buy a PS3 for movies and games, but I would want it for mostly movies. Then I thought why not just buy a player, but that's limited. Then i figured fuck it and get a drive for my PC, which I think is great. But with that may come other upgrades.

My video card can play Starcraft 2 okay at high but may stutter from time to time and has 4 GB of RAM. Is that enough to play bluray movies?

Just make sure you get the software that plays bluray movies too, if you go that route. VLC is supposed to play it now but I have never managed to get it working.
