500 to 700? Play games of various ages?

  4. Are you running a 3770K?

  5. At that price range you could get something like a 2070ti or a 2080, though I don't know if it would be worth it, as I think you'd end up being CPU bound. You might be better off with something in the 1660 family. Like this https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GeFo...s%2C143&sr=8-1

  6. If he has the 3570k, he’s going to be CPU bound no matter what GPU he uses. He also didn’t mention if it’s for 4k, or 1080p.

  8. I would suggest the RTX 2070 Super from EVGA. You're getting GTX 1080 Ti performance, with a nice balance for Ray Tracing @1080p.

Or, you could wait a few months and see what AMD has in store with Navi. It could be a ton of bang for the buck.

is there a reason to get that brand over GIGABYTE?

Quality of the components. Gigabyte is alright, while I'd totally avoid anything from PNY. EVGA also has one of the best warranties in the business. https://www.evga.com/articles/00671/
