    Yeah, that's true. It's still really clunky too, like switching jobs is kind of a pain in the ass. You have to unequip first, and a lot of the time you won't have enough space in your inventory to unequip more than one person, so you have to Fat Chocobo it or sell it or dump it, then you have to go get the new equipment for the new class. The spell inventory is really limited as well, and there are still a load of useless spells.

    Unless you have ugly eyes, the DS version is obviously the best version.

  6. I got my save working and beat hell out of Darksiders. Missed an armor shard, a collectable...but after that bug I wasn't chancing it. And I have a save before the end if I want to go back. My last time playing before today was January 2010.

  8. 31. Deathsmiles 2X (360) 1000/1000

    Been playing a lot of Cave shooters lately, this one has been my favorite. The similarities to the first helped me jump right in, and the additional mechanics for scoring are just so much fun and induce the kind of bullet hell that makes me a happy man. There can be a lot of slowdown as the screen becomes positively brimming with activity, but that is when I enjoy it most, slowly navigating a tiny escape route while suicide bullets come from every angle and score items are flying into you at unseeable speeds. So good. Best score was 6.7 billion with Follett, all other characters were garbage compared to her once I figured things out. Was able to 1cc with every character, but Follett was the only one I did all level 3s plus the extra stage and final True Bloody Jitterbug. Everyone else is a little wonky in areas and I didn't want to deal with their shortcomings. Just a great, great shooter, and for $20 it's so worth it.

    32. Akai Katana (360) 645/1000

    Also a really good game, probably the prettiest of all the Cave shooter's I've played, and one of the more difficult. Will continue to go back to this one to try cleaning up achievements and for better runs, but I won't be 1cc-ing this any time soon. There is absolutely zero room for error in the high scoring runs, and I find myself getting overwhelmed by the third level. Fortunately it's not super long so spending some time in training should help out, but man this one is tough. Have 3 different modes is cool I guess, but I only really enjoy Slash mode, Origin and Climax are kind of weird.

    33. Mushihime-sama Futari 1.5
    (360) 420/1250

    A vertical Cave shooter, REALLY like this one. It's one of the first Cave games where I may actually like Arrange mode more than the base arcade mode. It's a hell of a lot different playing this on console over iOS, and since getting it I haven't played it once on my iPod. The combination of constant falling gems and massive bullet patterns gives me the same zen feeling a game like Deathsmiles does, but the bullets in this one move a LOT faster and there is not a whole lot of game slowdown to fall back on. Have been able to 1cc Original mode, got to the 4th level on Maniac, and got the final boss to about 5% life on Ultra!!! MAN that was frustrating, that last bullet was easy to avoid but I actually moved into it instead of a nice achievement it was game over. Again, will be going back to this one often to clean up achievements and post better scores. Can't recall top score for this one.

    34. Deadlight (XBLA) 400/400

    An interesting game, mixing the kind of platforming you'd find in Flashback or OoTW with better locomotion and zombies. Almost all of the "secrets" can easily be found on the first run through the game, and it was nice of them to let you go back to each little section with a counter of how many secrets you missed in each area. Makes it pretty easy to 100% the game in about 2 hours. So yeah, pretty short. It seems like it would be pretty neat to do a speed run, but I'll save that until next year. The story was interesting at points and totally forgettable at others. 1200 points, you will not be doing yourself a disservice if you wait until it's 800. Decent time with the game besides some areas which are set up in a way as to make your life very frustrating.

    35. Mass Effect 2 (360) 785/1355

    Beat it last night! I think if I hadn't already started ME3 for 2 hours a few weeks ago I'd be upset at the ending, but knowing what to expect in the opening hours of 3 made me pumped when I beat the boss and stared out at that big ol' Reaper fleet. Achievements will be cleaned up (I'll get the 1000, maybe the DLC) but that's mostly beating it a second time, beating on Insanity, and getting to level 30 (I'm 23). Was very pleased when I got the No One Left Behind achievement without ever knowing how to do it. The last 20 minutes of the game got me 300 points lol. But yeah AWESOME game. There were a couple of hiccups here and there, but it was largely an incredible game experience. The world is chopped up into small areas for exploring, but the sense of scale from flying around the galaxy and whatnot of massive. I found myself giving a shit about the characters (mostly) and what they had to say, and I lead Jacob along for about 15 hours before I dumped him for Garrus right before the Omega 4 relay. Interspecies erotica? Hell yeah! Now my problem is I want to start 3, but I kind of want to do 2 a second time on Insanity and get fully powered up before doing so, but I'm only borrowing 3 from a friend and I don't know how long that's going to be the case. Plus if I buy 3 I can do the online stuff... CHOICES!

    RE:22 Asura's Wrath

    Went back and got ALL the DLC for the game, absolutely loved it, posted about it on my previous blog comment. I wish they had another 20 hours of content for me right now, this game was so much fun. And the true final fight was absolutely ridiculous.

    36. Danmaku Unlimited (iOS)

    Not a big fan of this game. Thought I would enjoy it more based on my time with the demo version, but it's just not a lot of fun. The bullet grazing mechanic feels silly. You graze bullets in most shooters just normally while avoiding the patterns, this one intentionally makes you get close to shitty patterns you shouldn't be near just to increase score. Didn't like it, 1cc'd it, didn't care about score.
