Thread: new RAM = no post

  1. I'm pretty sure the MB doesn't have a speaker. If it does there are no beeps. The only LED is a power light. I put the sticks into the same slots the old sticks were in. RAM is Kingston KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX, almost the same exact sticks I pulled out but 8GB instead of 4. MB is Asus M4A785T-M/CSM. I think I will have to go buy parts and start replacing to see what fixes it. Hopefully it's only bad RAM.

  2. Hook a speaker up to that bitch. How much could that cost? A dollar?

  3. It's astronomically unlikely that you'd get multiple sticks of bad RAM.

I agree, but I brought the RAM to work and threw it in a server and that won't boot with it either. Going to RMA it and see what happens with new sticks.

  5. Maybe your computer destroyed the RAM? Kedewa is right, that's very strange to have multiple bad sticks. Sometimes you just need to call the tech support or google the issue to see if others have had the same problem.
