And gamefan before that, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah the memories.
Somebody should recommend TNL for the board-approved gaming sites.
My only real interaction with ECM was back during the Gamefan days, right after Grandia was released for the Saturn. He did a two page write-up on the import and used my plot summary/translation I had posted on my old website when he played through it. He emailed to ask if it would be alright if he gave me a little shout-out in the article (which he totally did). I was thrilled. I talked to shidoshi a few times via email back then too. Back when he had that great website with the Blue Mary shrine. :P
Not sure how I found TNL. I remember I was living in Kentucky at the time. Think I just ran a search through Google for a game I was playing and happened to get a thread here in the results. I read through it, and there was a link to Jeremy's infamous Shenmue 2 review thread, which had me crying I was laughing so hard. I spent the next five years lurking and digesting the wiki before it was lost.
And gamefan before that, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah the memories.
fuck we are old.
your mom
The person who ran the CG Shrines even admitted to me that he ripped of my website. *heh*
Do we have any screenshots or anything of the TNL forums from before the influx of GameGO refugees? I have this vague memory of what they looked like, but then I also think I'm getting the TNL forums mixed up with some other forums (one where one of the main mods was female).

I just remembered no one here really played SF well so I went back to SRK. It took me a while to come back and enjoy these boards, but in the process I just passed over a ton of shit that happened.
Here is some random stuff I came across:

http://web.archive.org/web/200008160...ial/index.html (includes a feature written by former IGN EIC, Makaze (Jeremy Dunham)
http://web.archive.org/web/200008150.../UltraBoard.pl (long before we jumped to new software. Kenshin called the pre-Fight Club board, the Flame Board)

I know I joined back in college, but it doesn't feel like 10 years. It's been lots of good times here. I've never met anyone here in person, but I consider most of you as friends. I've shared some big moments of my life here (i.e., wedding) and you guys got me through some tougher times (i.e., law school). I don't post as much now because of work and other time constraints, but I'll always be around. Here's to another 10 years.
Ah, memories. I didn't know that Jeremy Dunham was Makaze.
