Thread: The Consumerist's Worst Company in America

Verizon Fios is the best service I've ever had, even if their router blew up and killed a couple of my electronics items in my home.

Always follow the money.
I live in CT and in our area the contract is with SBC (used to be SNET) and they handle all the DSL services that normally would be Verizon... This and I was going to say what Diff-chan said:

I thought I had heard this too, but wasn't sure if I was remembering wrong. When I contacted Verizon when FiOS first came out they told me about the SBC contract and that it would "never happen" so I kind of stopped keeping an eye on it. Why torture myself?

I've been saying this for years and have actually converted quite a few of my friends. Some of them aren't even as hardcore as me with dedicated desktop PCs hooked up to TVs and they're still never looking back.

  3. This thread sucks.
    Boo, Hiss.

  4. I don't have cable TV and haven't in almost two years. I never really miss it. Maybe for live sports, I guess.

But Cablevision has a near monopoly for broadband internet here and that's a problem because their service is slow and unreliable.

  5. I finally looked at this bracket. It's a fun way to group companies, but EA got the easiest road to the un-Elite 8 this side of a busted women's NCAA tournament. You could have filled the whole thing with 'financial management' companies, really.

Sears only exists when I need a good tool and I'm too lazy to drive to Harbor Freight.

  8. I'm in Sears at least once a week.
OF course, it's only to scour for clearance games, electronic, and tools.

  9. Sears selection of tools kinda sucks. Unless you like Craftsman, which is shit. Sears can go bankrupt and nobody would miss them.
Korly-"Everyone here is an asshole, SURPRISE!"
