Thread: Kickstarter's All-purpose Speculatory Thread of Dreams

  1. Kind of a random update, but three pretty big successful kickstarter projects released playable versions(alpha/beta) within the span of a day or two.

Elite: Dangerous released their alpha phase one today.

Wasteland 2 just released it's first playable beta to backers that pledged for early beta access.

Lord British (aka Richard Garriott) released his virtual real estate simulator Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues release 1 to backers at the $45 or higher pledge level.

look here, upon a sig graveyard.

  2. Elite Dangerous looks like something I would love.

  3. It seems like 2014 is the real moment of truth for Kick starter. There have been some good things that have come from KS, but the majority of the big games from the 2012 gold rush are coming up this year.

  4. OC Remix delivered!

  5. OCR is still around? I think I still have a few songs from there. That seems like a life time ago.

I backed it. I've already interviewed most of the western developers included, but there's supposed to be a ton of Japanese guys who contributed. There's also a lot of Sega exclusive stuff.

  8. ...and done! With the completion of Tiny Trek, I've got nothing running on Kickstarter at all. It was a good run and I'm sure a few things will pop up in 2014, but for the foreseeable future that's the lot.

yeah, the lineup for this one looks fantastic, was happy to back it. the one i didn't catch was the revised "Rise & Fall of Service Games" which if i recall correctly was basically just Pettus' stuff on PowerBase @ Eidolon's Inn, which is an excellent resource with decent citations but all kind'sve errors & redundant stuff, nevermind the missing finale. Revised one was supposed to sort this but they wanted a lotta $ (especially for color edition) so i decided to wait, looks like B&W is coming to amazon next month or so at least. there's not many books on Sega stuff, thought i did find an interesting looking one on Ocean Software while searching.

look. people like La-Mulana i think. Has anyone actually played La-Mulana or do they just play a little bit and remember how difficult other people said it was

people speed run and let's play it, but i don't think those are real people. either that or the game they're playing isn't really La-Mulana, just something that looks exactly like it

Yup, i'll actually sit down and really play La-Mulana

    one day
    Donk
