Thread: Kickstarter's All-purpose Speculatory Thread of Dreams

  1. I threw in for the 65 copy of Dark Matters -- looks solid.
"50,000! You scored 50,000 points on Double Dragon?"

Dux was terrible. Buy Gun Lord instead.

  3. Why is that ship collecting reeses peanut butter puffs cereal?

  4. #84
    Dux got great reviews

  6. This pitch video is awesome and you should watch it. Nice cameo too.

  7. Ooh, interesting! The second video just says they'll use commercially available motion controls, but not a lot of detail outside of that. Still, it's very tempting.

Who's the cameo? I didn't recognize whoever it was.

-edit- Never mind, should have figured it out from the crowbar.

  8. I noticed Ryuchi Nishizawa (co-founder of Westone and director of all the Wonder Boys except WB in Monster World) likes Kickstarter on Facebook. God, how I would love a Wonder Boy kickstarter.

I'm done with adventure game kickstarters after Tex and SpaceVenture, though. I feel like the games that have made it will either get the message across or not, but I don't want to set the precedent that that's just how adventure games get made from now on. Eventually publishers are going to have to see the money and follow suit.

  9. I'll probably give in and back SpaceVenture when I get home tonight. I'd been holding off, but I did like the one Space Quest game I played. I'm all set on my forthcoming adventure games too.

  10. This sounds like it'll probably end up terrible, but I like the idea.

Basic gist: Neal Stephenson trying to fund an online semi-realistic motion controller based sword dueling game.
