    Those aren't different art styles though. They still fit in the same aesthetic, what is being done in Bloodstained is not that. It's two completely different aesthetics and it clashes terribly, and just looks awful.


    Just because another team is handling the port doesn't mean they don't have to consider porting concerns when making decisions on the lead platform. They still have to say "We need this to scale down," unless they have enough money to pay those other teams to basically remake the damn game.

    I don't know that was the reason for the lack of maps on the textures, and I might be totally wrong, but you can't just dismiss it by saying "That's another team," as if they aren't sharing assets.
    Scaling things down is literally the point of the other team doing the porting. Inti literally hands over assets and says hey get this working on these platforms. They're not saying ohh we have to make lower res textures cause this is going to end up on the Vita. Inti isn't creating the lower res Vita assets, the other team is. That's what they're literally being paid for. That's WHY the bloodstained team even said they hired them. So that they can focus on the UE4 game and another developer can do the other versions. The other team's job is literally to figure out how much they need to lower the assets to make them work on the other platform. And no they aren't remaking the entire game. Although with the Vita and Wii U versions that was going to happen anyway since they don't support UE4 and would need a whole new engine made for the game to work on. Which the Bloodstained team even said was going to happen during the kickstarter. You don't make a game like this targeting model, texture and lighting LoD to the Vita.
