Even next year, I believe interleague play will still be a small part of the schedule. A lot of people were against it at first, but it has helped the popularity of baseball and I like to see the teams compete against each other because it offers an "exotic" look to the schedule.

I like the DH in the American League and no DH in the National League. It creates two different "worlds" that makes for interesting situations when they intertwine.

In other news, Chase Utley is supposed to be activated this week. Can the Phillies turn their season around? Last year, they played better when Utley was with the team (even when he was on the DL) and worse when he was away from the team on a rehab assignment. Mix that in with Roy Halladay and Ryan Howard returning in the next (hopefully) 4 weeks and the team gets a big boost. It'll be fun to watch.

  3. Welcome to the Jays, Jamie Moyer.

You're now older than out manager.

  4. Mets taking out their aggression from the last four games and are up 16-1 on the Cubs in the sixth. I still say there is a 25% chance that the bullpen blows it.

    or ...

  6. The Dodgers lost Andre Ethier to injury yesterday and the Dodgers were shutout for the third consecutive game by the Giants. Its the first time in Dodger history that they have been swept in a three game series via 3 straight shut outs. Fuck. They're playing TERRIBLE right now. I haven't seen a stretch this bad in a long time.

But yeah, it looks like my Dodgers are playing your Mets' tonight. Without Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier, and Mark Ellis you guys should have no problem taking down the Dodgers AAA squad that will probably be on the field tonight! You never know though....this is baseball after all....

In other news, the Dodgers signed some Cuban ballplayer, named Yasael Puig for $42 million.....Its nice to see them spend so much money on an unproven ballplayer who wont be in the big leagues til next year at the earliest, when the offense needs more support NOW. lol.

The Mets have been a AAA squad for two years.

  8. Dodgers lineup for tonight...

    Dee Gordon (L) SS
    Elian Herrera (S) 3B
    Juan Rivera (R) LF
    James Loney (L) 1B
    Scott Van Slyke (R) RF
    Adam Kennedy (L) 2B
    Matt Treanor (R) C
    Tony Gwynn (L) CF
    Chris Capuano (L) LH

Thats pretty bad. The sons of Tony Gwynn, Andy Van Slyke and Tom "Flash" Gordon are in that lineup with Donnie Baseball managing.. Jeter turned 38 the other day and my hair is receding big time. I'm getting old. LETS GO METS!

hahaha....yep. I told you is was BAD out here in Dodger land right now. Besides all the AAA kids of former All-Stars in the lineup, Loney and Adam Kennedy are absolute shit and shouldn't even be occupying a roster spot, and Rivera is having a terrible first half. Oh and Matt Treanor...lol @ having Matt Treanor on the team.

But yeah, predictably the Dodgers lost last night and are now in 2nd place. They lost their 7 and a half game lead over the Giants in 29 days. Fuck baseball right now.

  10. Phils trade Jim Thome to the Orioles for two minor leaguers. The Astros and Dodgers have a trade in place that will send Carlos Lee to LA but Lee has a no trade clause.

According to Scott Miller of CBS Sports, the Dodgers and Astros have agreed to a trade for Carlos Lee, pending Lee's approval to waive his no-trade clause.

The Dodgers would reportedly take on the rest of Lee's $18.5 million salary for 2012 and send back minor league right-hander Garrett Gould in the deal. Lee has adamantly told the Astros that he will not waive his no-trade clause, but the lure of playing for a contending team in Los Angeles might change that.
