Thread: Rayman Legends (PS3, Wii U, 360, etc.)

  1. Uncharted is on sale at target for $40. Just sayin'.

There's no sales tax in Guam, Amazon wants $8 to ship here even though USPS doesn't charge a dime more, and I have no interest in leasing my games from Sony or anyone else.

You're only "saving" on the B2G1 sales if you're too lazy to use a multitude of internet resources to beat those prices.
That's one way to look at it. One could also say that I got the B2G1 games at pretty low prices, and while I might be able to find slightly lower prices if I scour the Internet, my time is worth more than a few pennies.

You're also leaving out the part where they bent over some other poor slob to get that inventory.
And you're leaving out the part where that's my fucking problem.

Buying their used games is the absolute most damaging way to support that piece of shit company. I sure as fuck hope you didn't buy any caseless DS games, letting them know that throwing away millions of cases is ok.
I never buy caseless anything. And because they choose to do this with their DS/3DS games, I choose not to buy their used DS/3DS games. No righteous indignation required.

There's no Target here. No Walmart, either. Just a piece of shit Kmart that Japanese tourists lose their shit over.

When did you move to Guam? I knew you were in South Korea, but for some reason I though you were back in the continental US. I feel for anyone who is in a place where GameStop could legitimately be considered a deal.

  5. Nah, I just went home for vacation in February. I moved here in March. As far as games are concerned, there are two Gamestops on the island, and nothing mom and pop. Online retailers are hit and miss because so many aren't aware that it doesn't cost any more to send a package (via USPS) to Guam than to, say, Virginia. Or they're perfectly aware and just charge more because they feel like it. Of course, private couriers can charge whatever the hell they want. And different online retails use different courier services. It's a real pain in the ass.

So if I want to buy Rayman Legends (in accordance with forum rules), it's going to have to be at Gamestop. Unless I'm back on the mainland, in which case I'll stockpile at one of the local joints.

Blech. That's terrible, but I know Melf faces similar stuff in Puerto Rico.

Rayman Legends Lead Game Designer Emile Morel has said that you'll have to play as Murphy the frog rather than Rayman in a good portion of the game's single player mode.

Rather than playing as Rayman in these levels, the limbless legend will be automatically controlled by the CPU and you have to protect him as Murphy. The other levels will be classic Rayman levels.

Asked by Nintendo World Report if you could play Rayman Legends on your own, Morel said: "That's a question we get asked a lot. How do you play the game alone and can you play it with the GamePad? The answer is yes, you can. You play controlling Murphy with the GamePad and on the screen on the TV and also on the screen of the Wii U GamePad you'll have an automatic Rayman controlled by an AI. You have to open the paths for him, you have to kill enemies for him to make sure he can survive. You are the protector of Rayman."

He added: "Not the whole game is like this - you have specific levels for Murphy and the GamePad and more classic levels when you are playing as Rayman from beginning to the end. Half of the game, maybe not half but a good portion of the game, you'll have to play as Murphy."

According to Morel, it has been designed this way to make sure that players use the Wii U GamePad even if they are playing alone.

"We want to make sure that when people buy the Wii U and buy this game they can play with the GamePad even if they don't have friends at home to play with them. It's important that they have the new device and the new gameplay experience."
I'm not as interested in this now.

  8. ): that doesn't sound good at ALL. I thought i'd be able to play as that girl character in the videos.

Ubisoft and Nintendo are perfect for each other.

I think that sounds kind of neat, in a "I'll rent it once and never play it again" kind of way.

Then again, it makes around half the game one big escort mission, and we all know how much we love those.
