Thread: Games That Will Increase in Value - Game Speculating

  1. I agree with "the hunt"

It's like going to pawn shops and shit looking for that forgotten old guitar or amp. It is way more fun and interactive than looking on eBay.

Anthony: I don't really care if she takes all the dicks in france.

  2. I fell in love with ebay in the early days, like '98. By 2001, i was sick of it. The fun of the hunt has always been more satisfying than the hundreds (thousands) of games lining my wall. When i wasnt selling for a living, i would often build a collection, sell it all off, and start again.
Now i just sell it as it comes to me.
I still have a stupid huge collection of 3do, cdi, and n-gage stuff. I will never get rid of those. Too hard to find in the wild.
Ive amassed a ton of ds, psp, and ps2 rpgs. I will gladly dump them when the time is right.

  3. N-gage, what a beautifully terrible system.

  4. N-Gage: a cell phone that also plays games.

It was a visionary design. Too bad the hardware itself and all of its games sucked.

    I didn't know SSJN collected N-Gage, it's strangely fitting.

I'm seriously thinking about dumping most of my gaming collection other than my NES/SNES, Genesis, Neo and J360 stuff, and the few AAA titles on the other systems.

I guess all the people who had those systems as kids have jobs now and are buying up old shit they used to have.
    People collect their youth.

They've kind of shrunk down in the past 5 or 6 years. I used to frequent a store that was in Plano, but it went away quite awhile ago. East Texas still has a few stores though.

I don't get that at all. I mean, I know people do it, but why? The 80s comics I read in high school suck in comparison to what's available today. Avatar: The Last Airbender vs Thundarr the Barbarian isn't even a contest. The Commodore 64 was great for its time, but that time was mid-80s. Better to move on and enjoy the stuff being made today that's comparable than to hero-worship the past.

  10. I'm missing the part of my brain that has a use for nostalgia.
