Thread: Sega Pluto: Prototype of Saturn with Built-In Netlink

  1. Sega Pluto: Prototype of Saturn with Built-In Netlink

    LINK: Magic Box

Sega had planned to release the Pluto, a smaller version of Sega Saturn with a built in Netlink modem. It weighed 2.8kg, had 2 controller ports, and used a flip-top CD Drive and a cartridge slot for expansion memory and save data.

Not bad looking. This version has the US Sega Saturn logo, so it was probably planned for both USA and Japan.

I like stuff like this quite a bit. Some website from a million years ago had pics and descriptions of all the obscure versions of systems, prototypes, etc. Though I don't remember what it was called.

  3. Assembler?

  4. Pretty shitty of Magic Box not to link the source, Assembler.

Anyway, it looks like the other one has been located. Lid's busted though.

Already posted in the Saturn thread roughly ten threads down...

  6. That is the flea market find of the century.
