The expanded audio support of the Everdrive and Powerpak is pretty terrible. This uses the fds ram cartridge, so audio is perfect.
So let me ask this, is there any reason you would go with this over say an Everdrive N8 that supports Cart and FDS games?

Good to know, I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to stick with my NES, or pick up an AV famicom.
Join us, John.
I'm definitely considering it. It seems like you can get AV Famicoms at a fairly decent price too. As opposed to say a Jaguar which I'm trying to pick up too.
Jaguar is a horrible system. Just ask K3V.
Why do people bother with the av famicom when you can buy a 1st or famicom twin? You can use the av on the twin or mod both.

The image quality of the AV is better than the twin, and a lot smaller. It's also better than the image quality of a modded original unless you are using a NESRGB kit. Plus, removable controllers so you don't have to sit three feet from the system.
If you are modding, the AV is the easiest of all NES systems to install the NESRGB kit in.
Yeah plus I've heard there are issues trying to fit, or even getting the NESRGB Kit, or HiDefNES kit into an original famicom. I prefer the look of the AV Famicom, and digging into ebay its easy to find one going for under 100.
I know the Jaguar is not the greatest of systems but there's about 4 or 5 games on it that I would really like to play.
Under 100, what a bargain.
