Nice! I need to see if I still have Crystalis. A friend left it at my house long ago, I don't think he ever took it back. Out of the various rpgs or action rpgs, Crystalis is one of the few that I imagine are still good today. I'm not certain I ever want to play NES Dragon Warrior or FF again.
Also, where the fuck is my Double Dragon 2? I know I have it!
I've been playing mostly FDS stuff. I'm trying to really play Metroid for the first time ever, Samus is so fucking weak at the beginning. I'm not certain it will hold my interest long enough to beat it.
The beginning of Metroid is brutal, get a few e-tanks and the ice-beam and you'll be GTG.
Did you know that in the Disk Metroid that there's no way to play as Samus without the suit?

No, but it makes sense since you can't punch in any codes.
Justin Bailey has forsaken me.
I just recently went through Fester's Quest again... I was quickly reminded of how unbelievably hard this game was/is. Modern games spoil you for difficulty.

Spent a little more time than I was intending tinkering with the Famicom again, as I wasn't totally happy with the AV mod. I removed the useless RF board, and installed a proper RCA video jack in its place, and the video is now perfect (for composite.) Quite a feat for an old Famicom, most mods have jailbars and/or interference. I was running out of time, so I didn't install audio jacks, and just ran audio cables out of the RF channel switch hole. Maybe next weekend I'll fix that.
Also, I love this gif:

Somebody had a Complete Dragon Warrior 3 on eBay but didn't list it as complete and somehow managed to not have it show up when you searched for Dragon Warrior III or 3, don't know how I found it, but I did. Ended up beating the high bidder by a penny, so $25.01. Game usually goes for more than that cart only. Knowing my luck the cart won't work. Anyway, that pretty much puts a bookend on my "higher end" games I'm looking for.
Holy shit, that's awesome!
And if it doesn't work, I can fix it. Not too much can go wrong in these things other than a save battery.
