Not a bad price on that FDS. There are dudes in Japan selling them cheaper, but overseas shipping makes it more than $80 total.
Repro test #2 was a complete success. I wasn't really doing a repro this time, rather, I took my wretched US Ninja Gaiden III cart and loaded a patched version that restores the difficulty level, unlimited continues, and password system of the Japanese version while retaining all US text and graphics. I improved my processes quite a bit, it took me a third of the time to do NG3 as it took to do Contra.
I played through the first few levels, it's so much more fun than before. The difficulty seems to be about on par with Ninja Gaiden 2, although the Strider sword makes things a tad easier.
