Looks like a damned fine (but obviously late as hell) answer to the iPad.

  2. So it'll be like the Zune and Windows phones: Awesome, but too late and with no support.

  3. 2 reasons I can't take this seriously:

    1) sounds like there's dubstep in the trailer,
    2) windows 8

  4. The hardware looks great, but if the Intel tablet is locked to the app store the way the ARM tablet is, it can fuck right off.

  5. My Windows friend will love the shit out of this and convince everyone else it's the second coming of Christ.

  6. It looks cool and I like the detachable keyboard, but it will probably still be out of the range I would like to pay and will take a while for support to be decent.

    Can't wait for clearance markdowns.

  7. I still want a Zune.

  8. The Windows 8 UI is actually very slick. But like Brisco said - no support. Surface is getting enough buzz that maybe things will change? I don't mind Microsoft products at all. They can be a very good platform when they get their ducks in a row.

  9. I think it's pretty ugly and the kickstand is kind of cheesy. But I like the pen - pressure sensitivity is something that Apple really should consider for the next iPad.

This is what MS wants to do with Windows 8 so I give them credit for setting the bar. But in the end they'll be competing against their own hardware partners - partners who sell a lot of Windows licenses.
