Yes, considering how stoic and unflexible the grid is (though I heard that was/will be rectified in the second Japanese edition).

My cousin, who doesn't speak or read English very well, was able to complete the game. Oh, if only I could've done that: play the game, look at the nice visuals, and not realize how shamefully pitiful the story, dialouge, and voice acting was.

Haha, I remember that. I was wondering how my cousin could stand that game and I was even more shocked that he was able to finish the game without understanding any English. At least now Sqoon has answered my questions.

i've been enlightened, and next stop is PC Baldurs Gate.

If you're just getting into PC RPGs, I highly recommend Fallout 1 and 2 and Planescape Torment. The Baldur's Gate games are cool, but the Fallouts and PST are incredible. The Fallout games are great non-linear RPGs. And I especially recommend Planescape to anyone who thinks the Japanese have a monopoly on RPGs with great stories. It not only has the greatest story of any game I've ever played, it also manages to be creative, original and non-cliched (which is practically unheard of in any of the Japanese RPGs whose stories are always highly touted). And any Morrowind fan should try to track down a copy of Daggerfall. It's hard to get a hold of and is sort of expensive on Ebay, but it's terrific.
