    from getting down for a few hours of hardcore game play?

    apathy
    depression
    current game I want to play cost more than I want to pay
    redbox doesn't have it
    its easier to look at stuff online about the game (or anything else) than play the game
    That feeling of death breathing down your back as you grasp your own mortality and realize that maybe life should not be spent playing retreads of game play and story concepts from your youth.

    I don't know if it's easier, but the internet has definitely been a bigger crusher of gaming time than my job, wife, daughter, etc. I do think there is a fault within the games themselves too, because I can still be grabbed for a solid weekend. It just doesn't happen as often as it used to.

  10. I study a lot. A LOT. Time I would usually rather be playing a game.
