Thread: Dark Escape 4D

  1. Arcade Dark Escape 4D

Namco's Dark Escape 3D gun game is being renamed Dark Escape 4D outside of Asia.

The guns are a mounted type as on DeadStorm Pirates, but these grips have heart rate sensors. DE uses glasses for its 3D effect. The seat rumbles, and blasts of air will be aimed at the player's legs and neck (House of the Dead 4 Special tried something like this).

Japan has it already but the Western release date remains unknown. This one sounds interesting, especially with the pulse gimmick coming into play (there's one spot in the trailer where the game displays "safe" or "panicked" for each player).

PlayStation Move does what Kinect Kinnot.
    Finished in 2013: 10 games (360:1, PC: 6, Gen: 1, AC: 1, PSP: 1)

  2. There's a Dora and Diego kids show at the zoo here that's called 4D and has very similar effects, so I guess this is consistent if not goofy naming.

I'd definitely give this a whirl in an arcade but would also love to see a PS3 version minus the 4th D.

  3. Looks like a pretty sweet gun game, although controllers like that always make me think of a submarine game for some reason.

I will only get to see this if there's a PS3 version minus the 4th D.

  5. I heard they are up to Dark Escape 12D in Japan.

  6. Disney World (shut up) had an attraction called the Alien Encounter: Extra Terrorestrial, and it was something like that where it had stuff that would hit your ankles and felt like the alien was breathing down your neck and warm liquid dropped on you after it eviscerated a staff member in the rafters.

Now it's Stitch, and he burps a chilli dog on you.

  7. I think the Muppets 3D had all that. I just remember being young, I have no idea when that was. Maybe 15 years ago?

We had Animal Kingdom to ourselves for a technical conference I attended, and they had A Bug's Life thing like that as well.

  9. Yup, the bee sting in the back, and the worms on your ass. It's cool stuff.

The one that always freaked me out was the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland, where they shot quick jets of air at you as a blowgun trap was activated.
