Sega Genesis: The Superior Versions

Are there any good Metroidlikes on the Gen/MD? I was a Sega kid growing up, but despite that and my love for arcade-style games, somehow Super Metroid became my favorite game ever.

The closest things I can think of are the Wonder Boy games and Mega Turrican, and they're both a pretty big stretch in one direction or another.

I tried to play the SNES version of Phantom 2040 recently and it was pretty shit. Maybe the Genesis one is better or something.

I tracked down a cheap copy of Batman and Robin. It was complete, but as a cardboard case release, the packaging was kind beat up. Anyway, I can't wait to play it.
