I'm sure guys like Chux know this, but Disney was pretty involved in WW2. There is even a dvd of cartoons from their war effort.
But I don't think that really captures just how much they did. Or how popular Disney cartoons were with the men at war. They loved Disney cartoons. The characters were plastered on everything. Company patches, war manuals, nose cone art, letter head, match books, etc. If you could put a drawling on something, it probably had a Disney character on it at one point or another.
