  1. Location test of G.rev's Border Down (Information and commentary by SGL-HOR)

G.rev has conducted recently a location test for its new
game, BORDER DOWN. The game's 40% complete. For the
occasion, G.rev distributed a guide book for the game. The
page above contains information about the game with
    SGL-HOR's commentary.

I'm having loads of trouble understanding machine
translations of this page, so I'm unable to describe the
game's features. If you can translate the page into English
or can provide your own information and commentary about
    the game, please reply.

  2. From a Babelfish translation, I gleaned these things:

-Main shot starts at level 2 if you die.
-Break laser to block enemy fire.
-After the stage clearing, the maximum quantity of break with that
    stage HIT becomes the bonus.
-Beam laser like that of G. Darius.
-Speed Control button like R-Type Delta.
-You redo the current stage from a checkpoint if you continue (unless you're at the boss)
    -"Balance it is bad"
-"When the timer exceeds 30 seconds, boss game becomes end mandatorily"
    -"Completion ratio is 40%"

It seems they still need to tweak it some.

Indeed. HOR also notes that beginners would have a tough
time managing the overwhelming gameplay system. With speed
control, border decision, boss timer management, and hit
bonuses to consider, only seasoned shooting game players
would pick up on all this intuitively. I'm hoping G.rev is
reaching out to a wider audience, beyond shooting
veterans, because I don't see how this game would be
    successful otherwise.

I'm going to wait a few days to see if any other web sites
have anything new about Border Down. If nothing pops up,
    I'll try to translate HOR's information myself. I'm a
sucker for understanding complex gameplay systems, and I
have an idea on how the boss timer and border system works.
But I'm still sketchy on the details and I don't want to
present anything until I understand decently what's going
    on.

EDIT: Okay, so I never bothered to translate... :/

  4. I have to admit I am still quite optimistic about it if the team features developers from the RayForce and Darius teams. From the sound of it, they do need to simplify a few things or at least include a Beginner mode (with changes like a pre-game speed select similar to that of Dangun Feveron).
