  4. I like that it's a good movie - well acted, shot, etc. You might be picky about plot, backstory, whatever, but it was a fun thing to watch, start to finish.

    Kinda impressed that, even though I could see Han's death coming, they find a way to make feel horrible, all the same. Especially 'in world' - Han thinks everything Kylo's referring to is his struggle with breaking away from the First Order, but to Kylo it's the opposite. He's the symbol of dogmatic, absolute dedication to the cause. And I hate him so, so much for it.

  9. Jedi had a lot going on. Thematically I like it a lot more than the others.

    You know who loved the originals? Kids and young adults. You know who loved the prequels? Mostly kids.     I don't know I played hooky at my work and saw it this morning. As a human non-smitten with Star Wars I thought it was pretty badass. The actual visual precision with which some of these scenes were shot is second to none in any of the series (granted—modern technology and 3 decades of learned directors to help since the old ones). Pure eye candy with a fun adventurous script and enough throwbacks to bring you back to that sentimental younger kid self. I also very much liked how they wove so much of the traditional Star Wars subtext in to this one.

    I have no complaints. But I so have a request for the next movie: More novelty and creativity with the planets, ships and other new technology presented. The "death planet" concept, Jakku and even the Rebel bases were throwbacks to the original trilogy. I enjoyed it, but if the next one takes place on an arctic planet I am going to be disappointed. This was exactly the reintroduction to the series everyone needed... but lets break some newer ground in 8 & 9 plz.

    The entire chase with the Millennium Falcon on Jakku was right up there with some of the best pilot fights in the entire series (I loved the free fall move Rae pulled)

    He is a little bitch—but it's also what I like about him. A (these some MAJOR spoiler ya'll) completely unlikable bad guy isn't the typical route for these things. I loved the inferiority complex he has under his grandfather's shadow... that's a great recipe for some heartbreaking calamities he'll have to commit to prove himself. Hell one already kind of happened... but if you didn't see Han dying once you found out Ren was his son you're a idiot.

    That being said Ren stopping Po's laser rifle blast mid-arc was pretty epic.
