Redline is awesome.
Not for kids, sadly.
Hey assholes, I've been out of the loop for about 10 years. Is there any good feature length anime from the last few years I should check out? I got nostalgic and downloaded Wings of Honneamise the other night, and was wondering if there's anyone doing that sort of stuff these days?
You can exclude any of the Studio Ghibli stuff, as I'm pretty current on that.
Kid friendly stuff a big bonus

Aside from that and the Evangelion movies I'm kind of drawing a blank. Oshii seems to be doing live action stuff and animated shorts now, I wish there was something since 2004 from him that I could recommend.
I guess it depends on whether or not you're okay with a kid seeing bare boobers. It is just one scene, too.
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
Summer Wars
Redline (if you're okay with just one scene with titties)
The kid's in Australia. I bet if he looks out the window he can see aboriginal tits.
HA! HA! I AM USING THE INTERNET!!1
My Backloggery
It isn't for kids (at all), but Tekkonkinkreet gets my vote for best anime feature to come out in years.

For the fairly graphic violence, language and adult themes. I don't care about the brief nudity. I don't think it's appropriate for kids under, say, 11 or 12.
