Thread: Original Xbox Appreciation Thread

  1. Electric zombie dinosaurs in space. I still hate myself for selling that game.

Chronicles of Riddick was fantastic, but since it has an improved version for current gen and PC I'm not I'd go back to the original. Still amazing at the time.

  2. I still play the Xbox every now and again. Usually family get-togethers when me, my son, and my brother in law want nothing to do with the rest of the family and hide in the game room.
D&D Heroes gets a lot of play, Spikeout as well.
Most of the best stuff has already been mentioned. Conker was a great update. Riddick was the shit. Burnout 3 is still my favorite Burnout. Now that it's been HD-ified, Strangers Wrath doesn't have the appeal it used to, but it was still great.

edit: I've found the biggest problems with Xbox have to do with the tray not wanting to open or opening, shutting, then opening right back up again. It's a rubber band basically and a fairly easy fix. Don't see too many dead lasers or hard drives to be honest.

The Xbox port has a bunch of extras not on other versions, but the MS collection was more or less arcade perfect.

  4. Dave H. asked me to submit:
    1. Tork
    2. Blinx 1
    3. Blinx 2
    4. That one with the white mouse
    5. Advent Rising
    6. Galleon
    7. Malice
    8. Voodoo Vince <- I actually really liked this game.
    9. Ty
    10. Cybermorph

Ooh, some good ones. I have Munch, Stranger, Riddick, and MS3.

What kind of games are D&D Heroes and Spikeout?

I have one of the terrible Castlevania games, not sure if both came out on the Xbox. Oh, and Indigo Prophecy!

Not sure why I never bought the Conker update, I loved the original.

  6. I remember being immediately turned off by it being censored on 360.

  7. D&D is a console Baldur's Gate or Champions of Norath style dungeon crawler and up to four people can play.

Spikeout is a Sega made 3D beat em up. Very good game, best with multiple people.

  8. Sega Soccer Slam is a pretty awesome multiplayer game. Still play now and then.

  9. Ninja Gaiden Black

    Strangers Wrath

PSO (even though it's worthless now with no XBL)

    CVS2

Def Jam Fight For New York

    Psychonauts

    Puyo Pop Fever

    Burnout Revenge/3 (I don't know which one I like better. Probably 3)

    NFL 2K5

    KOTOR

Def Jam is HIGHLY underrated. It's equally awesome as a 4 player game, and as a really dumb/awesome story mode.

  10. also:

FATAL FRAME IS THE GREATEST XBOX GAME

EDIT: Holy shit, that game is going for $98 on Amazon!

And if you're down with adventure games there's:

    Syberia

    Syberia II

    The Longest Journey

    Still Life

But I think most of those games have a superior PC version.
