Lynx is easily the best version.

Not really, but it is a damn fine port, for the time.

It's not the most impressive version technically but it's easily the most playable.

Edit: years ago when I first became I bike messenger, I moved into a new place following a breakup but furniture, lamps and stuff would have to wait a few weeks. I was at a thrift store getting cookware and found a Lynx II with a bunch of games and case for $5. I spent several nights in the dark laying on the floor playing SotB recovering from the day, and even though I was dead broke it was one of the most amazing times of my life.
