They did, but it's the Super CD-ROM2 and won't fit in the briefcase.
Got a PC Engine ifu today, which takes me one step closer to one of my gaming grails of having a beautiful PCE briefcase setup. I took a gamble since it was an eBay auction using stock photos, but this actually was in better condition than the pictured unit.
Now I'm Frankensteining it with a Core Grafx and my TG16 cd drive. I wish NEC had made a drive that matched the core in color.

That thing is a tumor.
Hell no. That and a SuperGrafx remains the pinnacle of NEC hardware combinations. If you region mod the SuperGrafx, you can play everything, and no other set up can do that.
you can shove the giant SuperGrafx and the no games worth playing on it up your ass. Modded Duo all the way.

That actually may be right. When I had that setup, it still had the best version of GnG, but now the PS2 does.
edit: Honestly, most of the must play PCE games are available digitally on Wii and/or PSN now anyway.

That drive looks okay on a Supergrafx but it looks like it's raping a regular pce when attached.
I was ridiculously happy to see this pop up locally.
The few friends I've made in the horrible South Florida scene are all great and generous people. You absolutely need help from the community in this dark age of video game purchasing.

That game is better than it has any right to be. Miss X is a sorely underused gag.
