Thread: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor

  1. How exactly does the last sword upgrade work? It's the one where you push both sticks in and your suppose to get unlimited executions for 20 secs. The sword glows and I push the sticks but nothing usually happens. Seems kinda random when it does work.
Korly-"Everyone here is an asshole, SURPRISE!"

  2. It has it's own meter that needs to be fully charged before you can use it. Effect doesn't last very long.

built their castles and had their wars. I cannot stand by idly any longer." - Otogi 2

  3. Each of the three super moves you get have a meter. The stealth kill one is great because you can brand a bunch of enemies before it runs out. Makes getting to the Warchiefs a piece of cake.

I like this game so much I may do everything on the map. I never do that.

Anyone on my friends list who is avenging my deaths, have fun dealing with Tugog the Guardian. What a nightmare.

  5. As I've put in more time with the game I'm starting to enjoy it more. I'm still not crazy about the way that Captains or Chiefs that aren't decapitated come back to life. Even my GF noticed it while watching me play over the weekend, she even said at one point "Haven't you killed this guy 3 times in the last hour?". I think that's something that REALLY needs to be addressed and patched/fixed. It's silly and dumb. I really enjoy the bow and arrow in this, specially the side missions for it. I've done a few of them and have had a lot of fun with them. I'm still not completely sold on the Nemesis system yet.

  6. I put about 3 hours into this. I mentioned in another thread it plays like the best AC ever. The nemesis system is probably the first "next-gen" feature we've seen. It's one of those things - enemies remember you! they get rewarded for killing you! - that I imagined as a kid. It's always great to see that stuff actually turn up in games.

I really like the world-building too. I think Monolith really nailed it.

  7. I thought this looked good. I'm glad to hear some good things about it.

  8. This game, guys. This game.

  9. This is next on my list.

  10. According to the game I've done about 70% of it so far. I have to say I'm enjoying it a lot more the further into it I went. I do think there's definitely some pacing issues stuff like branding, the second map, the hunting missions with the Dwarf, and some other stuff should have been opened up way earlier in the game. By the time I felt like the game was finally opening up to me I realize I have like 4 main missions left. All that said, overall it's been a great experience. I'm glad I stuck with it past those first few frustrating hours.
