That's a seriously broad stroke, so I'll answer with a similar one. Why is it that the people most in favor of growing the government are also the most outraged when they're reminded the police are part of that?

I find it seriously naive if you believe that either of the two major political parties want to do anything but grow the government.

This is really a populist message, one that is equally as critical of both sides of the political establishment. Both parties are utterly corrupt, and act in the interest of their sponsors over their constituents. They squabble over abortion and healthcare to distract from the fact that neither of them are representing the people.
