Please don't buttplant me by making every thread about me, but I'll answer these two quickly:

Of all things, why Yoshi?

The persona came about in the early 2000s after Sega had left the hardware business. My initial leaning at the time was to back Nintendo as the last "real" gaming company. That was facilitated by the fact I thought the GC and GBA were both excellent. I've been a fan of dinosaurs since I was probably two, making Yoshi my favorite character in games like Mario Kart and the like, so he became a natural convergence of those two things. I first used the name on GameFan.com, and it's stuck ever since.
