Thread: VHS to digital

  1. MKV gives certain devices emotional problems, shouldn't be an issue most of the time though.

What is the best thing to give someone that barely knows how to shut down their computer let alone solve a computer problem?

  3. VHS to digital

    A slap in the head.

    Seconded.

U don't know. That might be too much for this fella.

  7. #47
Probably the best thing would be to just burn it to a DVD then.

eh, that is another layer of problems. You have to re interlace this shit for tv playback

I would have never thought there was so much bullshit involved going from one format to the next.

  9. You could probably pay some kid $5 to do this for you. Check around local indy video stores, some of them do tape/8mm-to-dvd conversions

  10. Welcome to the world of video formats designed by committee.

There are still plenty of places around here that specialize in VHS to DVD conversion.
I have no idea how they could make enough money to stay in business since there can't be that big of a market for converting from a long dead format to a moribund one, but there they are.
I assume they're laundering money or running a brothel in the back.
