SEGA has officially unveiled Luigi's Mansion Arcade, giving us a first look at the first person ghost busting simulator.

Based on the hugely successful Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon (or Luigi's Mansion 2, depending on your region) this arcade game sees you frantically shaking a vacuum-shaped controller to vanquish a plethora of evil spirits.

The game features a tutorial from series regular, Professor E Gadd, before battling spirits in familiar areas from the series. The only location announced currently is the second game's Gloomy Mansion.

While taking place in first person, it has been confirmed that Luigi will appear in the game during a handful of cut-scenes.

The game is developed by Capcom, but, the game was officially announced by SEGA and is being featured on the SEGA booth at the upcoming Japan Amusement Expo. Interestingly, the game's initial location tests were conducted by Capcom, but the exact details of Nintendo's three way collaboration have yet to be announced.

I stumbled onto this in the wild today, since my daughter wanted to play mini golf (at Frankie's for GohanX and/or Vasteel's benefit). It seems to be based on the 3DS game in terms of the mansion layout, but obviously the gameplay is quite different. For the most part it works. I wish it weren't $2.50 a credit, but it's one of those deluxe cabs, so I can't say I was surprised.
