spent half an hour on normal survival (10 minutes of switching it up between slide, c.mp and f.hp with claw because awesome ai guys, 20 minutes of loading) to only have 1) necalli become actually threatening with wacky 60% v-trigger combos, 2) 4 or 5 low health refill perks in a row so I was already kinda circling the drain, and 3) the server kicking me out at the exact same instant necalli would've delivered the death blow in his combo

hope they sell colour unlocks in the e-sports shop in march

e: yeah ideally I would've hit a bigger life-up perk earlier so I could get the attack boost but my choice between 29 and 30 was either surviving a jab or surviving a target combo, so I chose life and then the game screwed me twice simultaneously for it which I thought was kinda funny

Same thing happened to me at the end of normal. The computer isn't even trying until the final stage, then it goes nuts and it's like Where did this come from? Also it dropped me on match 29 for no apparent reason when I was trying with my third character. I haven't tried hard yet for these reasons.

Thankfully the online seems better than yesterday. Was able to get into enough ranked matches to rank up to bronze, beat a Nash who was on a 12 win streak and that felt awesome. When it's working the game is phenomenal. It feels REAL good. Got into one match that was laggy as hell, double hits and SFxT style "I just hit you, wait... no I didn't?" type scenarios. But that was one out of about 12. Got dropped from the middle of a ranked match for absolutely no apparent reason, very frustrating. And yeah the battle lobby thing is still fucked, no idea why that wont work or why the invite system is so obtuse.

Also obtuse: finding my replays. Where the fuck are they? Why do I have to search for replays by someone's ID, and I can only see ones that people uploaded? Where is my battle log? So far the only thing I've found is to LOOK UP my own profile and watch and save the last match I did. That sucks. Hope they change it.

This sounds like it'll be worth picking up used for $20 in a few months.

But there's no way that Capcom deserves any money, let alone $60, for the sorry state that they've launched it in.

Especially after their super-lengthy beta that was a pre-order exclusive.

If you are going to play online, get it, learn the game while it evolves. If you're looking to play some story mode or single player arcade whatever, wait and get for $20. None of that stuff is in it yet.

getting weird slowdown when is start matches. i thought it was graphic setting, so i put everything to low. still had it. it seems to do better when im offline so im assuming its something to do with the idiotic online functionality. i really shouldnt have to be logged in to get exp and fm.had about 3 matches. all of them had the worst connections. culminating in a ken from mexico that was teleporting everywhere. still won with some simple laura shit. im not really that good

Given that most games now have a five gig 'update' the second you put the disc in, I'm not sure anything has any business being a physical release anymore.

FPS games, sports games, fighting games the whole lot of 'em. The games that *need* to be on a disc are dwindling. Even single player games have massive post-release patches now.

Network has been great today for me. Been playing in training with the eligibility of online matches set to the best connections only. It hiccuped once in maybe ten matches, no drops.

I played all the way through easy survival and got to use the exit game button afterwards. I need to put in more time to test but now I'm wondering if my game closing by itself was tied to network issues.
