Thread: Completion Thread: 2015 FINISH HIM!!

  1. He's not here for the foreplay, he just wants to finish.

    I popped in AssCreed Unity tonight. The climbing/free-running animations are simultaneously way better and sloppier than previous entries. Those faces, however, are pretty fantastic all around. Playing on XBO and it's hard to tell sometimes if the game is running a tiny bit slow or if it's intentional, but the framedrops are real. If it hadn't been bundled I would've been whining that I should've bought it for PC, but for what amounts to such a cheap price I'm not complaining too much.

    Got "wealthy savant" for the rating.

    Finishing the main quest unlocks Dela mode, which is even more challenging. Thanks to XSEED for picking this up.
    I think I spent at least 30-45 minutes of the total time playing the card game Blade in the casino. Well, at least. If you try a hand or two, you might get hooked and set the quest on the back burner for awhile.

    A major improvement over the SNES version is how the camera truly rotates when you turn, instead of doing a 90 degree snap (why didn't they try to add mode 7 rotation in the SNES version when Contra III used it so well, who knows). This feels like a 2D counterpart of Legend of Grimrock/Dungeon Master, only with one character instead of a party.

    As good as this is, I'd like to see Falcom and their always ass-kicking sound team JDK give the sequels a similar treatment on Vita.

  5. Walking Dead Season 2 (Vita) - I liked it as much as the first and actually found it even more compelling. Looking forward to season 3.

    This is the first I've played this game in at least 10 years. I was never a big fan because of the occasionally ambigous interface causing things to not work because I wasn't lined up right without giving me any real indication that they COULD work, leaving me to assume what I'm doing is wrong. The point and click interface in the remaster does a lot to alleviate this, but the problem is still just a much of an issue as ever with the new joystick controls, which I'd prefer otherwise.

    In any event I think I enjoyed it more this time than in the past, and the commentary was a nice bit of retrospective as well. Still not my favorite LucasArts adventure, but it's hard not to love the style and characters.

    I finished Hunniepop, I think. There doesn't seem to be an ending, if there is it is probably for 100ing all the questions and gifts, and I'm not sticking around for that.

    The puzzle game is very good. Requires actual thought and strategy, especially later in the game. The dating parts aren't so great, which is the exact opposite of what I was expecting.

    I'd buy a stand alone version of the puzzle portion of this game on iOS for a couple bucks for sure.

    I finished this just now too. It's OK, not sure I think it's best of all time by any stretch

  9. No, certainly not. But it's long on charm and style, so it's hard not to like. I'd still take Sam & Max or Day of the Tentacle any day.

  10. Yeah, Day of the Tentacle is still the best of all the Lucasarts games.
