Buried in the Eurogamer article is mention that Nintendo tried to get Criterion to make an F-Zero for the Wii U launch!

The triple-dip might rub some people the wrong way, but I really wish they'd give MPT the HD remaster treatment on Wii U, and let you choose between sticks or waggle.

Sumo Digital is better anyway, so hopefully that'll be the choice on NX.

The sad reality is that a new Need for Speed will likely sell way more than a new F-Zero, so Criterion probably made the right business decision.
Criterion is a developer. I doubt they get paid by the unit sold.
I'd bet they get a royalty based on units sold though.
Potentially. That would be better than Metacritic.
