Thread: Star Wars: Rogue One (2016)

  1. I like how they take a joke that is recognizable in two minutes and make a fifteen minute video out of it.

  2. Personally I think it's great.
Why are you reading this? go to your general settings and uncheck the Show Signatures box already!

  3. Finally got around to seeing this. It was great and easily 100x better than The Force Awakens.

Glad I managed to avoid spoilers for as long as I did.

It's a fairly scathing parody of what these shitty youtube based movie "review" channels have become. Or maybe always were.
Is there a transcript? I'm not sitting through however long of a video that is listening to those guys. It may be on purpose, but the shitty timing and whatnot is too much to bear.

watched this tonight. It was pretty good all things considered. I enjoyed bitchy Robot.

The few criticism are fair. The dads were written poorly. their deaths were written poorly Which doesn't surprise me. Disney has never written a good dad. They always make him a stereotype or an idiot or both. Like, Mr incredible is like the only good dad I can remember, in anything.

  6. Mufassa.

  8. Not really a dad though.

  9. I dunno. It definitely doesn't fill me with the happiness that Force Awakens manages to (it actually seems to get better, for me). I'm disappointed with how very little the characters were fleshed out, even with the scenes that were apparently the bolt-ons. They all feel kind of perfunctory and action-figurey in my memory. Let alone the silliness of the plot at times, there just aren't enough scenes that let these characters breathe... I failed to build an emotional connection to most of them, which made the annihilation of all of them didn't really affect me except for the fact that I was surprised they did that from a Disney standpoint. The CG characters were distracting.

And yet it's miles better than any of the shitty prequels. The ending was sweet.

I liked how they explained Darth Vader's change in swordsmanship He didn't need to bother with it anymore around nonforce users. He could control just about everything in the room. Flipping around and doing all that shit was beneath him. Absorb this. Return this. Choke this guy.

And man was it great. That look of surprise and terror. It is exactly how people should react when a cyborg with magic powers comes calling.
