Maybe I am. Maybe I steal enough capcom games that I can't get any other way that I'm willing to "overpay" for something they are producing in order to throw some money their way.

And really, even if they jack up the price on shit that already exists, didn't you just pay $30 for a compilation you probably already had 80% of?
And really, even if they jack up the price on shit that already exists, as long as other people are buying it and keeping Capcom going what do you care?
And really, even if they jack up the price on shit that already exists, we all know that jacked up price won't last long. Within a year it'll be half price.
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't and didn't pay $40 for that game. But I'm not mad that other people did because it's their money and Capcom has released enough "worthy" games that no one bought that I'm ok with them doing what they have to to make a buck. In an age where we are seeing more and more Japanese developers die off forgive me for not holding a grudge against a company that's trying to stay afloat however it can- without resorting to kiddie porn like a lot of Japan has.
The box art is nice. Also this means they're making Mega Man Legends 3 and localizing every Ace Attorney for Switch.
Donk
I've got good news: you don't have to buy those either.
Isn't a slightly altered port precisely the kind of game with which third parties have supported brand new consoles, especially Capcom, and especially portable consoles? Games like Final Fight Advance, Ghosts n Goblins Advance, Darkstalkers PSP, Alpha 3 PSP, all of which were available cheaper on older systems?

Honestly i wouldn't think twice about paying $40 for Vampire Savior on Switch, no extras or anything. It doesn't even need to be Vampire Chronicle for Matching Service.

Actually, I'm not sure I have any of them in their arcade forms at the moment. I'm not saying I've never bought any of the others before. Plus, I would probably have paid $10 each just for the arcade versions of Rolling Thunder, Rolling Thunder 2, and Splatterhouse, even if they gave me nothing else, because those have either not been available before or not recently. [edit: They weren't on the Wii Virtual Arcade, so I don't think they've ever been available before.] [edit2: I also don't recall tate versions of Galaga and the like, though that is harder to look up quickly.]
I'm not sure I even care if Capcom keeps going, so I'll concede that point. And really, even if they jack up the price on shit that already exists, as long as other people are buying it and keeping Capcom going what do you care?
Assuming they printed enough copies, that will be true. And really, even if they jack up the price on shit that already exists, we all know that jacked up price won't last long. Within a year it'll be half price.
Those assholes would be (slightly) more afloat if they weren't making me wait a year for RE7 in VR.Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't and didn't pay $40 for that game. You're like a ray of sunshine in the darkness.
You bailed yourself out with "especially Capcom" there. Though they're now a barely warmed over corpse, look at Konami's output early in the GBA's life versus Capcom's. We got Krazy Racers, an original Gradius and an original quasi-Castlevania, etc. while Capcom was busy not making exactly what you mentioned. Namco is another good example. They may have kicked off like 10 straight systems with Ridge Racer, but at least they were original Ridge Racers.Isn't a slightly altered port precisely the kind of game with which third parties have supported brand new consoles, especially Capcom, and especially portable consoles? If people will pay shit tons of money for Switch ports of old games and the money funnels into development of new PC versions of games, then I'm all for it.
Well obviously. Unfortunately, a couple of Capcom's recent big PC ports have ironically come via outside funding from Sony (SFV) and Microsoft (DR4). I'm pretty sure Sony is also keeping RE7 VR from me though. Speaking of that, how the fuck are SFII and III not available on any PC digital storefront? Or Darkstalkers for that matter?
Well the rumored Street Fighter collection will hopefully fix that issue . No Darkstalkers games tho.
