Thread: Nintendo Switch / Nintendo Switch Lite (Official Thread)

  1. That makes sense and explains why it's happening this way.

I guess the point would be that the series of events played out so that I've never seen more advertising for a Nintendo product I can't get and that's weird.

Starting when the game launches on March 3, players will be able to purchase an Expansion Pass for $19.99, granting access to two new sets of downloadable content for the game when they become available later this year. Immediately upon pre-purchase or purchase of the Expansion Pass, three new treasure chests will appear in the game’s Great Plateau area. One of these treasure chests will contain a shirt with a Nintendo Switch logo that Link can wear during his adventure, exclusive to the Expansion Pass. The other two will deliver useful items. The first content pack is scheduled to launch this summer, and will include the addition of a Cave of Trials challenge, a new hard mode and a new feature for the in-game map. The second content pack will launch in Holiday 2017, and adds new challenges that will let players enjoy a new dungeon and a new original story. The Expansion Pass will be available for both the Nintendo Switch and Wii U versions of the game and are identical. Content packs cannot be purchased individually.
Definitely an interesting announcement, particularly as a first for a mainline Legend of Zelda game. Obviously we've seen a number of Nintendo property games in the last number of years receive post-launch DLC and season/expansion passes already, by and large done well. Hopefully Nintendo delivers with this new Zelda BOTW expansion as well, it could be cool so I'm looking forward to finding out more.

  3. So the first pack is stuff that should have been in the base game. Et tu, Nintendo?

  4. Sounds like it. Maybe hard mode will be more "master quest" and have new enemie patterns and item placements to make it more interesting.

I'm fine with DLC, though. If I like a game enough, I have no problem paying for more.

  5. Basically $20 for an extra dungeon.

  6. I do not like DLC and season passes as practice, it was bad enough that FFXV was the first FF that wasn't complete in the box but now even fucking Nintendo is doing it with their main franchises?

    I hate the future sometimes.

The PS2 had custom chips, so it was expected that it would have supply problems. It was also flying off of shelves as fast as Sony could ship them out for nearly a year.

I don't see how the Switch would have supply problems like the PS2, unless they are limiting the assembly force to save money.

  8. Iraq bought most of them for missiles, of course.

It's not like the old days where a company could make a game that was relevant for years on end by itself. Now everything has to be big and new or it's not worthwhile. People talk like 2015 is ancient history. I don't know if it's gamers or the game companies that made it this way.

but i got a lot out of FFXV and i'm awfully happy there's more to look forward to. As far as Zelda is concerned i'll be hollering "WHERE'S GROOSE" (in hyrule wrrriors) until the end of time. If there was $2.99 horse armor and it had Medli or Midna on it i'd be there day 1

Oh, and that sombrero for Noctis was worth the entire price of the season pass, no regrets

It's truly a symbiotic relationship - one side's bullshit feeds the other for the confidence to shovel more bullshit into the original's mouth.

Although, 2015 was a pretty good year for games. FFXV was better than expected. Doom was incredible. Who knew?
