  1. I'm interested in the fightman possibilities.

The d-pad (or lack thereof) seems shitty for that. Unless...

  3. well yeah but you're talking to someone who wants to use a touch screen for shmups, so 'good control' is not of importance ;p

The presence of a "Pro" controller should be a tipoff that 3rd party joysticks could be possible.

That particular setup looks like trash, though. Get that neck strain!

  5. It's not going to be the go-to for high degree Street Fightin', but at a casual "couple beers on the porch with friends" level, I think it looks fun.

The controller is a problem, but with the pro pad, there's an out.
    Boo, Hiss.

  6. Makes me hope for a CvS2 port.

No-internet-lag multiplayer is going to be great with this thing.

  7. The trailer is an interesting bit of marketing, more for what we don't see than what we do. No one uses the touch screen, watches a movie, there are no children, no old people, nothing casual.

I don't think that's because it won't do those things or that Nintendo isn't interested in those demographics, but more because it's really important to Nintendo that people think of this as a console you can take with you rather than as a tablet you can play on your TV. The former is a much more enticing value proposition and a way "back in" with the core audience Nintendo has lost.

  8. I don't think casuals are going to be that into this, so it's a smart move.

Also, it launches in March, and I don't think casuals would be buying consoles in March.

  9. My birthday's in March.

    hint hint

    Sounds about right.

I mean, I think gamers are the type of people who would be stoked at the thought of playing the exact same Mario Kart or Smash or Zelda in front of the TV or on the go.
