Thread: NG: Dev.Team's new game is... KRAUT BUSTER

  1. Arcade NG: Dev.Team's new game is... KRAUT BUSTER

NG: Dev.Team has started working on Kraut Buster, a new Metal Slug type game set in 1936. It's planned for Winter 2015 on Neo-Geo MVS & AES.

Looks OK so far but I'm still on the fence. At least Rafael Dyll's BGM isn't bad, though definitely inspired by MS like everything else here. The footage represents a WIP and hopefully will improve considerably by the final release.

The MVS gamecenter kit will be 399 euros (ca. $426), and the MVS LE with Shockbox will go for 449 euros ($479).
KB's Meg count will probably be not too far from Metal Slug 3's.

  2. "Inspired" is being really generous.

Also holy shit, do MVS kits normally go for 400+ these days?

That Karnov-esque triangle jump is hilarious in all the wrong ways.

I think they actually ripped the sound effects straight from Metal Slug.

    This is so bad.

NG: Dev games do, and the sell out almost immediately and retain their resale value. You could argue that it's a lot cheaper than MVS kits from SNK were new since they were for arcade operators, but when NG: Dev finally gets around to releasing a home cart version of a game it costs way more than SNK ever charged for anything.

Or you could wait for the DC version.

This looks really bad, though. Not like early, unfinished bad, but rather we don't understand what makes for good run and gun game feel bad.

Looks like ww2 metal slug with bland level design to me.
