What do you think about the various MAME-based arcade systems out there, usually for around $2500? (X-Arcade, Arcade Classics, etc)

Apparently "general purpose" is more specific than you or I ever knew.

They're ok? Emulation is always going to be some nth of a percentage off from real hardware, the sound usually sucks in comparison.

How many places do we need to discuss emulation? Wasn't the point of this thread to actually discuss real arcade stuff?

Any of that X-Arcade stuff used to only be good for the pre drilled particleboard, you'd want to replace the stock joystick and buttons for decent stuff straight away. You could probably rig up a Supergun in there if you wanted with some grief.
