Doom 32x is awful

That was the first version I ever owned, so I'm a bit less critical than maybe I should be.
It's got its fair share of problems, like not being fullscreen, missing the last episode and having only forward facing enemy graphics, but I like how the lack of depth shading allows for sniping distant enemies. An enemy that would be too far away to see on PC shows up as a flickering pixel or two on the 32X version, and can easily be picked off with the pistol.

I heard the 3DO version is the worst ever.

The SNES one was pretty dismal. Playing on a sub-par PC was pretty rough too.

Always, always thought the N64 one looked like shit.

I ran Doom on a 486/66. How sub-par was your PC?

Are we comparing specs from when I was 10 years old? It was a 386 and decidedly not at gaming machine. Ran Spear of Destiny alright, though.

Exciting just to get the thing installed, though! Even if it was playing sounds through PC speakers and the graphics were a 10fps postage stamp.
