Old? Did Japan make cartoons before the 80's?

I was in Berkeley yesterday and heard a kid yell to some other kids "I HAVE to see PIXELS you guys!" so yeah we're old as hell now.

I watched the entire Tekkaman Blade series a few weeks ago. It was pretty cool.

This may or may not be the right thread depending on what's available/recommended.
But I'm in the mood to watch an anime. I have three rules:
1.Must be on Netflix or Hulu
2. Must be dubbed
3. Must be good

Recommendations please?

Hulu's got loads of stuff --Patlabor, Tank Police, Wings of Honneamise, Armitage III, FLCL, buncha Robotech... don't know what's dubbed, though.

Speaking of, started watching the dub of the Berserk TV series with the missus, there is some rouggggh acting in there.
