This is very cute! It's also the glitchiest goddamn PS3 game I have ever played.
It's very much "super easy King's Quest meets Princess Bride".
So The Odd Gentlemen's reboot of King's Quest is out, published by Activision's reboot of Sierra. My expectations for this were low when I saw early rumbling of platforming and action elements, but the buzz on this seems mostly positive with Destructoid even calling it a GOTY contender, and everyone more or less agreeing it's both a real adventure and an appropriate heir to the series' legacy. Almost every review I've read compares it to A Princess Bride, as well, which can't be a bad thing. On the other hand, Polygon had a lot of issues with the game's pacing and the speed of navigation. Anyone try it and care to comment?
Newegg had this for 10 dollar so I picked it up. Just waiting for the whole game, really.
Six months is a long time. I would imagine that not waiting until you've got like 3/5 done to start releasing so that you have a quicker schedule to your audience is to use feedback from prior episodes to improve the next, but judging from the reception chapter 2 got that doesn't seem to be the case here.
