Thread: Super Mario Hot Wheels!

  1. Super Mario Hot Wheels!

I didn't see this posted anywhere.

Mattel is teaming up with Nintendo for an interesting product collaboration. As discovered by Brazilian toy site T-Hunted, six Hot Wheels cars based on Mario games are on the way.Four of the designs are inspired by Mario platformers, and feature a Super Mario Bros. 30th anniversary logo. The other two tie into Super Mario Kart and Dr. Mario.
    Here’s the full lineup:
    8 Crate Delivery (Dr. Mario)
    A-OK (Mario Kart)
    Cool-One (Super Mario Bros. 2)
    Dairy Delivery (Super Mario Bros.)
    School Busted (Super Mario 3)
Volkswagen T1 Panel Bus (Super Mario World)

All of these Mario Hot Wheels are releasing in October.

I missed the Atari ones (I did get the Sega cars, of course), but I'll probably bite on these. The packaging is really nice.

I have all the Sega ones as well and thankfully could not care less about these unless they get beyond Mario.

  8. I don't get it. Except perhaps for the inadvertent suggestion of Dr. Mario's malpractice, these just seem like random automobiles with some Mario crap stuck on the side. The packaging is just the official game art, they don't get credit for that.

Sidenote, look how far Mario's mouth is from his nose. I know it's to make room for his mustache, and he's an icon so whatever, but man he'd look dumb without a mustache.

  9. The most important question is whether these are a buck or a premium $4-5 like the Atari series a few years back.

There's no way anything with a Nintendo logo on it is a buck, unless it's a $0.05 candy.
