Yes, you are. Those rafters meant nothing as soon as 27 went up there.

That's not true. Niedermayer deserves to be up there even though he wasn't a lifer. Shit, even Brodeur had some wins with a different jersey. So did Stevens.

Niedermayer left in his prime and likely cost the team at least one more Cup run. Fuck him. Stevens retired as a Devil, and Brodeur, though I didn't like the move, certainly didn't have anything left to offer the Devils. Daneyko, Stevens, Brodeur, and Elias should be the only sweaters up there in the foreseeable future.

  4. Niedermayer played 13 seasons for the Devils. Come on. He played 20 or more playoff games in a season 5 times for the Devils. He should be up there.

Scott Stevens? Also 13 seasons and 9 more with other teams. Niedermayer? Only 5.

It's not how many; it's when.

    AHL but still amazing:

  7. I got tickets to see the Islanders next month. They're pretty good no?

  8. Yeah, 3rd in the division not far behind the Rangers and fending off Pitt and NJ from passing every game.

The Devils are toast. Cammaleri has missed too many games and our bottom 6 forwards are a combined -79. It's a rebuild year. Still, closer than you would think. Cammaleri hasn't played a full season in a long time. We need him replaced and we need a deeper squad. The young defensemen are fucking solid though.

4 Cup Finals and 3 Cups with the Devils. "When" did you want him to play?

Let's not forget, too, that the Devils were lowballing him when he wanted to be paid like a top 10 D, which he was, and the Devils offered him about 60% of what those guys were getting and he sat out for a couple of months and ended up settling for what was a lowball contract. That set a precedent for later.

He also took less money to play with, and try to win a Cup with, his brother. After 13 years with one team I think he earned that and there were contentious negotiations with Niedermayer a few times with the Devs.

(Edit) Wow! That was great shot. lol
