Maybe it's my proximity to the great white north, but I've always heard carbonated drinks referred to as soda, pop, and sodapop. No one blinks an eye.

I have not heard anyone call it all "coke" since like 1987. I'm not saying people don't still do it. But for as long as I can remember people have used a catch all of "drinks" to also cover bottled water and sweet tea.

There's a few phrases here and there that annoy me, but I say "literally" "ngl" "smh" "i cant even" etc so much that it's just part of life now.
