Design aside, why does this look worse than TNG?

Enterprise D had a pretty graceful and curvy design. It's aesthetics reminded me too much of a cruise liner. I prefer the newer ships geometry and sharp angles.

They should put a transgender alien in the show. Current society shouldn't be able to bypass the liberal sensibilities of Starfleet

DS9 also had an episode with Dax and another Trill who was his former wife (when his host was a dude) in another Trill's body. They had a girl-on-girl kiss. I don't think ST had ever done that before.
