Thread: System Shock (PC) and Remastered Edition (PC, One)

Yeah, the interface and pre-Quake engine have their limits. Having WASD controls now is definitely nice, though.

Not really sure why a company failing at a project and letting people down who were looking forward to their game is funny?
Because only suckers and rubes back kickstarters.

  3. Kickstarter is a bet, not a preorder.

It would be cool if it acted like shares. Buy (x) amount of shares in this boardgame, get a payout if it becomes a successful retail product or if Hasbro buys it out.

This is how Fig works, actually.

  5. They should fire their publicist, first I've heard of 'em.

They attracted a few big projects like Psychnauts 2 and Wasteland 3, but it turned into a bit of a shit show because it took forever for them to get FTC approval on the equity sharing stuff. It's all good now, but they're still feeling the chilling effect.

  7. Development is back on, release date now (allegedly) Q1 2020.

Also, they say that they're going back to the straight remake plan (as opposed to the reimagining/reboot territory they were venturing into).

  8. It's the right call. Especially with System Shock 3 on the way, a more direct remake serves more purpose than trying to evolve the series. It's a shame they wasted almost 2 years with nothing to show for it, but it's not like delivering 2 years late in unheard of...

Because no Kickstarter has ever delivered. Gotcha.
